Forming close relationships with those around us helps us feel happy and supported. Relationships can be emotional or sexual, but should always be healthy. A healthy relationship is one where:
- both people in the relationship feel supported
- both people in the relationship can still have their own independence
- both people in the relationship can communicate well with one another
- both people in the relationship respect the other person's boundaries
Identity and sexuality
Sexuality is about who we are attracted to and identity is about who we are and how we feel. Expressing how we feel about ourselves or somebody else can be difficult but you should never feel embarrassed.
If you are unsure about the way you feel or who you are attracted to, there are lots of services and organisations that can help you.
