We asked for your feedback on our proposed SEND strategy for 2026 - 29 (PDf 3.64mb).

Consultation started: Friday 14 November 2025

Consultation closed: Friday 6 February 2026

More information

The strategy takes into account what children and young people and parent carers tell us they need. It also follows on from the Ofsted CQC SEND area inspection, and our SEND improvement plan.

We want to find out:

  1. Do the ambitions reflect what matters most to children and young people with SEND and their families?
  2. Are there any parts which are missing, unclear or need strengthening?
  3. What do you think is the single most important priority for us to focus on?

Online consultation events

Thank you to all those who came along to our online consultation sessions to share your views on the new proposed SEND Strategy.

**A BSL interpreter was in attendance at both events.**

We will use the feedback from these sessions to inform the final version of the SEND Strategy and ensure it reflects the priorities, concerns, and lived experience of children and young people with SEND, their families and professionals that work with them.

Children and young people

  • Our SEND Participation Lead consulted with children and young people through the Voices of Hertfordshire programme.
  • SfYP Youth Councils discussed the strategy too.
