Our proposed SEND Strategy 2026 - 29 will set out how we will support families in Hertfordshire across education, health and social care, for the next 3 years.

The strategy takes into account what children and young people and parent carers tell us they need. It also follows on from the Ofsted CQC SEND area inspection, and our SEND improvement plan. 

We want to find out:

  1. Do the ambitions reflect what matters most to children and young people with SEND and their families?
  2. Are there any parts which are missing, unclear or need strengthening?
  3. What do you think is the single most important priority for us to focus on?

Online consultation events

Now, we want to hear from families again. Come along to one of our online sessions to give your views on the strategy and tell us if you agree with our priorities.

If you'd like to attend, please sign up to one of the sessions below. The session will take 90 minutes and includes a short presentation on the strategy, followed by focus group discussions. In order for us to facilitate conversations, we have limited spaces to 30. 

**A BSL interpreter will be in attendance at both events.** 

Children and young people

  • Our SEND Participation Lead is consulting children and young people through the Voices of Hertfordshire programme.
  • SfYP Youth Councils will be discussing the strategy too..
