We deliver high-quality specialist training and systemic work to primary and secondary mainstream, independent and special schools to help them support children and young people with persistent literacy and/or numeracy difficulties.

Our training courses provide school staff with assessments, strategies, resources and interventions to support children and young people with persistent difficulties in learning to read, write, spell and use and understand numbers.

Assessment tools and guidance

We have a range of documents and advice pages that can support education staff to help pupils with persistent literacy and/or numeracy difficulties. These include assessment tools and guidance which help a teacher to work out a child's level of need.

The Word Reading and Spelling assessment can be used by school staff to identify gaps in children's knowledge of phonics and common exception words to inform target setting and teaching of interventions.
