We wanted to know your views on our proposal to replace the rising bollard controls for the 'bus-only' gate at College Lane in Hatfield with camera enforcement.

We proposed to use unattended camera enforcement using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology that would recognise the vehicles passing through the gate and identify those that are not permitted, which shall be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice.
The introduction of the unattended camera enforcement would improve traffic movement and safety, support active travel, public transport use and reliability, and reduce repair and maintaince costs.
As part of this work, we will also be checking and revising as required the respective Traffic Regulation Order to allow robust enforcement.
