About us

The LAF is consulted on:

  • Proposals to appoint wardens on land where the right of access applies
  • Byelaws affecting access land
  • Long term restrictions and exclusions of access
  • Rights of way improvement plan implementation.

The LAF deals with all forms of access and it will advise on strategy and planning issues but it is not expected to get involved in specific casework or individual routes.

Local Access Forum (LAF) membership

Membership includes council staff, councillors and representatives from local community groups.

We're happy to welcome new members to the LAF. We're particularly interested in people who can represent disabled access needs, youth interests, land managers, horse riders and cyclists.
