Hertfordshire County Council

The Chairman's role is to represent the county council at civic and ceremonial events, promote the county, encourage greater partnership working, and act as an ambassador and champion for Hertfordshire.

The Chairman attends a variety of events and functions within Hertfordshire, organised by many different organisations across the county and further afield, if there's a Hertfordshire connection.

The Chairman also attends events organised by council departments, such as opening of community homes, schools, youth clubs and museum exhibitions.

If you have a group, organisation or business which might welcome a visit from the Chairman, email details to chairmans.office@hertfordshire.gov.uk.

Our current Chairman is Terry Douris.

The Vice Chairman is also available to represent the Chairman, should they be unable to attend an event.
