Report a concern about an adult

Tell us if you're worried about an adult.

Or call us day or night – 0300 123 4042.

If someone is in immediate danger - call 999.

You can tell us about:

  • General concerns about a care home or other care services
  • Concerns that an adult can't look after themselves
  • Concerns that an adult at risk (someone who needs care and support and can't protect themselves) is being abused or neglected.

If you leave your details, we won't necessarily contact you.

If you'd like us to investigate a complaint about our adult care services, make a formal complaint instead and we will get back to you.

Someone is always here to speak to.

You can tell us about:

  • General concerns about a care home or other care services
  • Concerns that an adult can't look after themselves
  • Concerns that an adult at risk (someone who needs care and support and can't protect themselves) is being abused or neglected.

What happens after I report my concerns?

  • We look at every concern.
  • If your concern is about a person, we will do all we can to make sure they are safe and protected.
  • If a crime is taking place, we'll contact the Police.
  • We won't necessarily contact you.
  • We will talk to you before we ever share your details.
  • For less serious general concerns, we might not always act on individual reports.  But we will investigate if we get lots of reports about the same thing.

Abuse can happen anywhere - at home, at work, in hospital, a care home. Anywhere.

If you're not sure what to do - or you don't have all the details - call us.

We can help.
