Recruiting now for NEST foster carers in Hertfordshire

What is NEST Fostering?

The NEST (Nurturing, Empathic and Supporting Transitions) fostering scheme is a new initiative that aims to provide safe and nurturing foster homes for children who would otherwise be cared for in residential children's homes.

NEST foster carers are given:

  • Specialist therapeutic parenting training to provide them with the appropriate skills
  • An enhanced skills payment of £1500 per week, plus an age-related child allowance when they are caring for a child.

Both carers and children receive ongoing support from a dedicated team of outreach workers, a fostering senior practitioner and a therapeutic parenting practitioner. There is also support from other foster carers, including sleepover carers who will offer regular sleepovers for the child
