To help us promote the new SEND Strategy and raise awareness that 'SEND is Everybody's Business' we would like to invite you to join in our drawing competition.

We have 5 Amazon vouchers of £50 up for grabs for the top 5 entries across 3 categories!

Who can enter?

If you're a child or young person aged 0 - 25 with SEND in Hertfordshire, then this competition is for you! Siblings and friends of SEND children are also very welcome to enter if they would like to.

What do I have to do?

To enter the competition, you will need to create a picture. You can use any medium you like - including paints, crayons, pencils collage or your iPad! Your picture should be based on 1 of the 3 categories below.

How to enter

The closing date is 5pm on 24 September 2021 - so make sure you get your entry to us before then! To enter the competition, you can fill in the form below, where you can upload an image of your picture, or find details of how to enter by post.

The competition has closed.

After 24 September, a panel will shortlist their favourite pictures from each category. We will publish these on the Local Offer website and will ask you to vote on your favourite images to decide the winners. Winners will be notified by 22 October 2021.  We will use the winning drawings on the Hertfordshire Local Offer website and on our social media platforms to promote the new SEND Strategy, plus, the winners will receive a £50 Amazon Voucher.

Terms and Conditions

  • The title of the competition is SEND Strategy drawing competition (“the Competition”). 
  • The Competition will run from 9am on 11 Aug 2021 (“the Opening Date”) to 5pm on Friday 24 September 2021 (“the Closing Date”).
  • To enter the Competition you must complete and submit the online competition entry form and upload your image submission (which cannot exceed 25MB in size) by the Closing date. All Competition entries received after 5pm on the Closing Date will not be considered.
  • The Competition details (which are included on this website) form part of these terms and conditions. When entering the competition, entrants agree to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions. The Competition is open to all Hertfordshire residents aged 0 - 25 only. Proof of age may be required. If you are under the age of 18 please make sure your parent(s) or guardian has read and agreed these terms and conditions.
  • HCC employees under the age of 25 or their children (excluding those connected to the Competition) may enter the Competition.
  • The Competition entries will be shortlisted by a panel made up of SEND Professionals and parents (“the Panel”). Winners will be chosen from the shortlist by a public vote (“the Public”). Entries will be published online according to the category they are in – something that makes you happy; what you would like to be when you grow up; someone who you respect and admire. The decision of the Panel and the Public (acting reasonably) is final.
  • There will be 5 winners. There is 1 prize per person only.
  • The winners of the Competition (“the Winners”) will be announced 4 weeks after the Closing Date. 
  • The Promoter will contact the Winners personally using the preferred method of contact, as requested on the submission form.
  • If the Winner/s cannot be contacted or are not available, or have not claimed their prize within 5 working days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize on to the next eligible winner and/or runner(s) up (and that winner and/or runner(s) up will have to respond to the notification within 5 working days).
  • The Promoter will send the name of the winner to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the Competition requesting details of the winner and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the Web Team, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, SG13 8DE.
  • The Promoter shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in the Promoters privacy policy: https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/about-the-council/legal/privacy-policy/privacy-policy.aspx and in accordance with the Data Protection Legislation.
  • The Promoter will not use your details provided to contact you, except for communications regarding your competition entry. Once the Competition ends the Promoter will not keep your details.
  • Details of the prizes are as follows: 5 x £50 Amazon vouchers
  • The prizes are all subject to availability and the Supplier’s (Amazon Ltd) terms and conditions.
  • The prizes are not transferable, negotiable or exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • By submitting your entry, you grant permission for the Promoter to edit, publish, broadcast and otherwise use your entry in any and all mediaincluding, without limitation, on the Promoters publicly accessible website, Facebook page(s), Twitter feed(s), YouTube channel(s), and all other media.
  • By submitting your Entry, you warrant and represent that:
  • You are the legal and beneficial owner of all intellectual property rights in the entry, and that your entry is your own original work and does not infringe any third party rights.
  • You have the right to, and agree to, grant the Promoter permission to use your entry in the ways described in these terms and conditions.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to pass on any entry (including the associated personal details) which causes it concern to the relevant authorities.
  • You agree to compensate the Promoter in respect of third party claims arising out of or in connection with any breach by you of the assurances and agreements set out in these terms and conditions.
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
  • The Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of the Promoter in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Promoter shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control.
  • If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to exclude you from participating in the competition.
  • The competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
