This service is only for Hertfordshire residents. If you're outside Hertfordshire, contact your local fire and rescue service.

Any questions, call 01707 292344 or email hhss@hertfordshire.gov.uk.

Educational visits

Request a fire service visit to your school or place of education. We aim to respond within 48 hours and will be in touch to confirm or decline the request.

Unfortunately, we can't commit to nursery and pre-school visits. We recommend visiting Staywise for all fire safety and educational resources.

All visits are dependent on service priorities and operational cover (which could result in a short or no notice cancellation).

Notification and Marking of Sites (NAMOS) regulations form

Submit a NAMOS form if you store 25 tonnes or more of a dangerous substance. That includes fertiliser (ammonium nitrate).

Let us know again once you've used or no longer store the substance. We can take this into account if we have to visit your location.

The data in this form will be used by Hertfordshire County Council / Herts Fire and Rescue Service (the data controller)  to meet the statutory duty under the Dangerous Substances, Notification and Marking of Sites Regulations 1990 to register all premises containing dangerous substances. This includes making arrangements for inspection.

By submitting this form you will be notifying Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service that 25 tonnes or more of dangerous substances are used or stored, or will be used or stored in the named premises, and  that a Fire Officer will be in contact to arrange a visit for an assessment of the site.
