This petition was considered by the Highways and Waste Management Cabinet Panel at its meeting on 13 May 2014. The Panel endorsed the proposal to: •Accept the concerns of the petitioners •Submit the petition to the Highways Agency for inclusion in their application for funding •Accept limited funding be made available by the County Council to contribute to the scheme (paragraph 6.1 of the report) The Panel also recommended that officers: •Submit to the Highways Agency the proposal for an improved path to be created on the site of the current short cut to allow better accessibility to the bus stop. •Consider providing a greater financial contribution to this work, as appropriate, if all or part of the footpath is located on County Council land. •Ensure that the local member is kept informed of any developments and provided with regular updates on the progress of this work.
