The county council has conducted a second consultation on the amount of funding it provides to support local bus services. Based on the feedback we received during the first bus consultation in 2014, the original proposals were amended to reflect some of the concerns raised as well as adding in a review of the value for money criteria which is used to assess which services we should support and ones which we are unable to. Members of the county council considered the feedback from the consultation and its potential impacts and decided that the proposed changes should go forward. Changes to services will take effect from September 2015. Officers of the county council are in discussion with all the bus operators to see if any of the services at risk of funding being withdrawn can be taken on by the bus operators on a commercial basis.
