Title: Say No to the Proposed Gravel Extraction in Bengeo Hertford
Petition Overview: Say No to the Proposed Gravel Extraction in Bengeo Hertford. Object to the proposed application for the phased extraction of 2.6 million tonnes of sand and gravel, a mobile dry screening plant, stockpile area, weighbridge, wheel cleaning facilities, ancillary site offices and the construction of a new access onto Wadesmill road and phased restoration to landscaped farmland at a lower level of land at Ware Park. Sited between Sacombe Road and Wadesmill Road, Hertford, Hertfordshire. GRID REF: 532500, 215000. Impacts the proposed extraction would have on the area and residents of Bengeo: - The proposed land is part of the Green Belt and should be left untouched. This currently unspoilt area is enjoyed daily by walkers, cyclists, dog walkers, runners and not to mention the local wildlife. - B158 Wadesmill Road is not constructed to deal with the amount of traffic the gravel extraction would bring or facilitate HGVs. - Traffic levels will increase, existing traffic levels already being very high for the area. - The proposed extraction is on the doorstep of resident's family homes, Bengeo Primary School and the Bengeo allotment. - Noise pollution. - Air pollution/dust exposure, which would affect the local area and put both residents and children attending the Primary School health at risk. - Property values in the surrounding area will be affected. - The council have stated this could last for a period of up to15 years. You must act quickly as the end of consultation finishes on the 20th April.
