Gypsy and Traveller sites in Hertfordshire

There are 55 Gypsy and Traveller sites in Hertfordshire.

We manage 11 of them, including:

The others are private sites or unlicensed sites.

An 'encampment' means at least one vehicle and one caravan. We will not investigate a tent or a camper van of any size.

We will visit to do a welfare check.
We will investigate whether the encampment is on our land or privately owned land.
If the encampment is on private land, it is the private landowner’s responsibility to move on the encampment.
If the land belongs to us, we will take responsibility to move on the encampment. This process can take up to four weeks.
