In addition to the extra improvements made possible by reallocated HS2 funding, we're investing a further £5 million into patching work.
This funding is made up of an estimated £2 million for 2024/25 and £3 million brought forward from 2025/26. These figures may be subject to change.
Information:
- Prep patching – used to give the existing road or pavement a smooth and structurally sound surface for future dressing. This may be done years before the main work. Prep patching is used to solve any immediate issues and increase the life of the existing surface.
- Localised patching – where repairs are made to sections of road or pavement that have deteriorated but the whole length doesn't need repair. This includes potholes and surface cracking.
