Safeguarding training and learning

We provide a wide variety of learning programmes and workshops across Hertfordshire to build skills for safeguarding children and young people.

Inter-agency training supports staff in:

  • sharing practice
  • understanding each other’s roles and responsibilities
  • working effectively both within and across organisations.

Our training courses build on the level 1 awareness sessions provided by agencies to their own staff.

Keep an eye on the booking system for our latest courses and events. Our Lite Bites are shorter sessions on a specific safeguarding topic.

All of our courses are run by knowledgeable trainers and experts in the field, so you can be sure that the content of each programme will be interesting, stimulating and reflects safeguarding best practice in Hertfordshire.

HSCB Training Charging Policy

Course Charges

From 1 April 2011, all delegates from agencies that do not contribute to the HSCB budget, including schools, colleges, district and borough councils, out of county providers and profit making private and independent organisations, will be charged for their staff to attend HSCB training courses. This will be at a cost of £75.00 per person per full-day course, or £50.00 per person per half-day course.

Courses are free of charge to HSCB contributory member agencies and the voluntary sector.

Lite Bite sessions are free of charge to all agencies.

Cancellation Charges

Cancellation charges of £75.00 per person per full-day course, or £50.00 per person per half-day/Lite Bite course will apply to all agencies if delegates fail to attend on the day, or fail to advise HSCB in writing more than 14 days in advance of the course that they are no longer able to attend.

Invoices for course fees, non-attendance, or late cancellations will be sent to agencies after the course.
