Fire station open days and school visits

Open days

Open days in 2026 have now finished. Thank you to everyone who attended. We'll publish details of the 2027 open days here once they are confirmed.

Not all open days have the same activities and some depend on the weather. That may include:

  • having a look round a fire engine
  • watching a cooking oil fire demonstration
  • seeing someone rescued from a car
  • a teddy bear 'parachute drop' from the top of the drill tower (bring your own teddy)
  • other specialist emergency vehicles and services
  • smoke experience
  • Loki the fire investigation dog
  • stalls, food and entertainment.

On occasion an event may be cancelled without prior warning. Do contact the fire station direct before travelling.

Educational and school visits

You can request a fire service visit to your school or place of education.

Unfortunately, we can't commit to nursery and pre-school visits. We'd recommend visiting Staywise for fire safety and educational resources.

All visits provide age-related safety information and are in line with the curriculum.

Visits usually last between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

All visits are dependent on operational cover and service priorities and may be cancelled at short notice.
