Bookstart

Bookstart is a free starter pack provided by schools to encourage younger children to start reading.

Each pack has specific books and activities depending on your children's needs:

  • Bookstart is for babies 0-12 months and nursery children of 3-4 years
  • Booktouch for children 0-4 years with visual difficulties
  • Bookshine for children 0-4 years who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Bookstart star for children 2-4 years with additional needs.

Bookstart Treasure packs are given out at different times of the year for each school's district:

  • Dacorum – Autumn 2016
  • North Herts – Autumn 2016
  • Stevenage – Autumn 2016
  • Hertsmere – Autumn 2016
  • Watford and Three Rivers – Spring 2017
  • St Albans and Harpenden – Spring 2017
  • Broxbourne - Summer 2017
  • East Herts – Summer 2017
  • Potters Bar, Welwyn and Hatfield – Summer 2017
