Bookstart

Bookstart is a free starter pack from the charity BookTrust to encourage families to share books with their baby.

Each pack has specific books and activities depending on your children's needs:

  • Bookstart Baby is for all babies 0-12 months.
  • Booktouch for children 0-4 years with visual difficulties.
  • Bookshine for children 0-4 years who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Bookstart star for children 2-4 years with additional needs.
  • Time to Read for all reception age children in Autumn term 2022.

When you show books to babies and young children, they love listening to your voice reading the story and enjoy looking at the pictures with you. Reading with your child helps them to learn new words, to understand the world and their feelings, and to build their imagination– all whilst you have fun together.

If you have any questions, email us about Bookstart.
