Partnership working is vital for the delivery of strategic biodiversity and landscape initiatives, and is promoted through national, regional and local groups and forums.

Wildlife (biodiversity)

Major partnership initiatives include:

  • Hertfordshire Nature Recovery Partnership
A partnership formed of organisations across the public, private and voluntary sector to deliver Hertfordshire's local nature recovery strategy (LNRS).

  • Hertfordshire Local (Wildlife) Sites Partnership 1997 – present.

The Hertfordshire Local (Wildlife) Sites Partnership was set up to identify and protect sites considered to be of significance for wildlife locally. Sites include meadows, ponds, woodland and urban green spaces.
  • Hertfordshire Local Nature Partnership (LNP) 2012 – present.
The LNP’s role is to ensure that the county’s natural environment is fully considered in local decision making and that it delivers benefits for wildlife, people, landscapes and the local economy.
