Dropped Kerbs (Residential Vehicle Crossovers) Login
A dropped kerb is where a footway or verge is lowered to allow a vehicle access to a property. Normally a footway or verge does not have the required strength for a vehicle to drive over it, so it will need to be strengthened. The strengthening will be undertaken as part of the dropped kerb work.
This allows you to:
- Find out whether your application is likely to be approved
- Find out how much the dropped kerb is likely to cost you
- Submit documents/ photos electronically to support your application
- Receive a quotation via email
- Pay via debit/credit card
Before applying it is vital that you first read all the Guidance Notes. The guidance notes will explain what information will be required from you before you begin the online process.
You must ensure that your parking area meets all the criteria, as not all applications are approved. You will need to measure the distance between the kerb edge and your property to proceed. You will also need to create an account with us to receive the quotation by email.

It is possible for us to provide you with an initial estimate for how much a dropped kerb will cost you. This is merely an indicative price, a more detailed price will be provided further on in the application process, although the final price will only be determined once an engineer has visited your premises. Please complete the questions below to proceed. You can then obtain an estimate via the slide bar or start the process.
How much will it cost you?
Sorry, you are not eligible to apply for a dropped kerb.
To obtain a guide price, first measure the distance between the edge of the road and your property boundary, this is the area depicted by the X in the diagram below.
Then, using your measurement, slide the bar below to the nearest distance.
This is only an indicative price and will need the council to assess. It cannot be guaranteed that it will be possible to install a dropped kerb or that the dropped kerb will cost this price. That can only be determined after an engineer has visited to view the site.
