Electoral registers – we hold most of the electoral registers for Hertfordshire, dating back to 1832. Registers for years 1832 to 1932 and 2002 to 2014 are available on Findmypast.co.uk which is free in Hertfordshire libraries.
Poll books – show public votes cast in Parliamentary elections. We hold most poll books from 1696 to 1872.
These documents are only available to view at the Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies office. View a list of the electoral registers we hold.
Absent voter registers (1918 to 1931) show people away from home, including those in the armed forces.
If you're having trouble finding what you're looking for, ask us to search for document for you.
Unfortunately, for legal reasons we can't copy registers produced in the last 10 years.
Contact the British Library for registers from 1947 - 1950.
