Activities include walks, cycle rides and family events led by someone familiar with the area who can help you get the most out of your local countryside.

What to bring

  • Strong, comfortable footwear
  • Waterproofs or a sunhat, depending on the weather
  • The organiser will tell you if there's a pub or café stop. If not, you might want to bring snacks and a drink.
  • The organiser will tell you if the event involves public transport and you need money for your fare.


General safety rules

  • Events are run by different individuals and organisations. Contact the organiser for any special requirements.
  • Follow the leader's instructions at all times.
  • Leaders will be at the meeting point whatever the weather, but may alter the route or cancel the event if there are health and safety concerns.
  • Under 18s and vulnerable adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Keep dogs under close control at all times.
  • If you decide to leave an event early, please tell the leader.
  • Cyclists must wear a helmet at all times.



Getting there

  • All activities will start and finish at the same place, unless otherwise stated.
  • Events usually begin at easily found landmarks with car parks.
  • If you have to park on the road, please don't block entrances, roads or pavements.
  • Please share transport with other attendees or use public transport, if possible.
