Our Corporate Plan explains our vision for Hertfordshire and how we plan to make it happen.
We're working on our new Corporate Plan right now. It will be finalised and published in October 2025.
Fix our roads
- Trial a new approach to mend more potholes in a single visit rather than coming back another day.
- Ensure the new highways contract works well and delivers improvements for residents.
Make journeys safer
- Review the speed management strategy to tackle dangerous roads.
- Roll out 20mph schemes more quickly where residents want them.
Improve our environment
- Plant an extra 10,000 trees for a greener county.
- Keep our recycling centres open seven days a week without the need to pre-book a slot
Support people who most need our help
- Bring young people, parents, schools, teachers together for a SEND Summit to inform plans to make the further improvements needed.
- Lobby the government to complete the Casey review into adult social care within 12 months so urgent reforms to the system can be fast-tracked.
Generate funding to invest in frontline services
- Launch a review of all the land and property owned by the council to see what is still needed and what can be sold – focusing first on the sites which have been unused for many years.
- Move all council meetings to Stevenage, ending the need for council officers to travel to and from Hertford and freeing up the County Hall site for other uses.
