Reducing littering in Hertfordshire

District and borough councils are running a number of initiatives, including:

  • anti litter posters in common littering areas
  • enforcement officers who can issue fixed penalty notices
  • recycling on-the-go bins in public areas
  • litter picking equipment to borrow
  • talks on littering for schools and community groups.

The Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner has created a video to show the firm line being taken with flytippers caught in the county.

This crushing result is being shared to highlight a clear message to fly tippers: this could happen to you too.

If you see fly tipping happening, call 101.
